Ammir Fakić Croatian cinematographer with film Picnic to the European Oscar

The short film “Picnic” by Jure Pavlovic’s certainly not in the dreams cinematographer piece of work that its range represented the most desirable, but the film as a medium is allways unpredictable and showed that 12 minutes is enough for success. Almmir is the playing time used to one nominally interesting story turned into a movie worthy of world festivals.

Color standard for motion picture-finnaly???

The Academy Color Encoding System (ACES) is becoming the industry standard for managing color throughout the life cycle of a motion picture or television production. From image capture through editing, VFX, mastering, public presentation, archiving and future remastering, ACES insures a consistent color experience that preserves the filmmaker’s creative vision. In addition to the creative benefits, ACES addresses and solves a number of significant production, post-production and archiving problems that have arisen with the increasing variety of digital cameras and formats in use, as well as the surge in the number of productions that rely on worldwide collaboration using shared digital image files.

Words that mean the movie

Emmanuel Lubezki

“thanks to my director, who is one of the best”

Fraction of speech Emmanuel Lubezki, namely single sentence reveals a lot about the relationship the director of photography and director. For many this relationship remain an eternal mystery, for different sectors in the production of the film, the thing nobody dares to fumble (except of course the producer) in this case the undisputed success.
Acknowledgement sent by Iñárritu is not symbolic, not courteous it is true gratitude of an artist to another.

Light -does it the most important issue in the world?

, science correspondent, The Guardian

Researchers have worked out how to make matter from pure light and are drawing up plans to demonstrate the feat within the next 12 months.

The theory underpinning the idea was first described 80 years ago by two physicists who later worked on the first atomic bomb. At the time they considered the conversion of light into matter impossible in a laboratory.

But in a report published on Sunday, physicists at Imperial College London claim to have cracked the problem using high-powered lasers and other equipment now available to scientists.

“We have shown in principle how you can make matter from light,” said Steven Rose at Imperial. “If you do this experiment, you will be taking light and turning it into matter.”

The scientists are not on the verge of a machine that can create everyday objects from a sudden blast of laser energy. The kind of matter they aim to make comes in the form of subatomic particles invisible to the naked eye.

The original idea was written down by two US physicists, Gregory Breit and John Wheeler, in 1934. They worked out that – very rarely – two particles of light, or photons, could combine to produce an electron and its antimatter equivalent, a positron. Electrons are particles of matter that form the outer shells of atoms in the everyday objects around us.

But Breit and Wheeler had no expectations that their theory would be proved any time soon. In their study, the physicists noted that the process was so rare and hard to produce that it would be “hopeless to try to observe the pair formation in laboratory experiments”.

Oliver Pike, the lead researcher on the study, said the process was one of the most elegant demonstrations of Einstein’s famous relationship that shows matter and energy are interchangeable currencies. “The Breit-Wheeler process is the simplest way matter can be made from light and one of the purest demonstrations of E=mc2,” he said. THE BOX – The Creators Project

Box explores the synthesis of real and digital space through projection-mapping on moving surfaces. The short film documents a live performance, captured entirely in camera.

Bot & Dolly produced this work to serve as both an artistic statement and technical demonstration. It is the culmination of multiple technologies, including large scale robotics, projection mapping, and software engineering. We believe this methodology has tremendous potential to radically transform theatrical presentations, and define new genres of expression.

UK Directors fight to re-instate Super 16mm film

Six years have passed since the BBC set out to destroy the use for transmission of 16mm film and in effect decimate the industry on which it was based. Imago led the fight initially, supported by the BSC which initiated a Series of Comparative Tests. Major companies headed by Arriflex and Panavision attempted to provide an objective appreciation for cinematographers and directors of the true cost of the digital or film dilemma by establishing the Information Forum (IF). The breakthrough favouring common sense however came from pressure from the German Society, the BvK, which resulted in television in their country opening its HD transmission for the use of Super-16mm.

Now faced with the loss of Laboratories in the UK, the Directors UK have alerted themselves to the reality that unless the BBC reverses its iniquitous policy the opportunity to make programmes on Super 16mm film may no longer be available in a country which has long prided itself in the quality of its films for television.

Christopher Doyle commented on the recent award of the golden statue

In an industry that consists of 90 percent of assholes, when someone starts to tell the truth and in doing so scoffed a colleague about this news industry insiders that has to be disclosed. Famous Christopher Doyle commented on the recent award of the golden statue, we bring the interview to http://sea.blouinartinfo.com/ by Sam Gaskin.

“Do you want me to tell the truth? Ai yay yay yay. Okay. I’m trying to work out how to say this most politely, and no offense to – I don’t know him personally – but what a total fucking piece of shit. Let me be blunt. Ah, fuck. I don’t care, I’m sure he’s a wonderful guy and I’m sure he cares so much, but since 97 per cent of the film is not under his control, what the fuck are you talking about cinematography, sorry. I’m sorry. I have to be blunt and I don’t care, you can write it. I think it’s a fucking insult to cinematography.

Sony F 55 – The beginning of a new era for small film industries or the end of a professional film?

Accessibility superior film technique provides the ability to shoot the movie at home, the question is whether this is progress or step into mediocrity.
We are witnessing the hyperproduction in classical photography, which led to a noticeable decline aesthetic criteria, waiting for us now to do the same in film production?

The film industry was the last refuge of dreamer and people willing to make sacrifices for the achievement of artistic tendencies, people who are were starting from slate that would one day become the cinematographers and camera assistants.
A small film industries such as Croatian, certainly has a better chance to advance in sense of production or will continue under the old recipe, we (producers) production cheaper and you the same or even less money to live on!
You could say – the million dollar question, and not, still does not work with us on the millions, maybe hundreds of thousands, when the Sony F 55 is concerned, enough!

In today’s digital market, ‘affordable’ and ‘consumer’ have become synonymous with ‘low-quality’ — but it doesn’t have to be that wayIntroducing the Digital Bolex D16, the first digital cinema camera to shoot RAW at a price anyone can afford.

Breaking news-filmski radnici u bijegu
